Material Properties at elevated Temperatures

Construction materials have different physical properties at the high temperatures. Due to this fact, at the stage of the fire protection planning appropriate materials have to be considered and applied. According to the Standart of the international fire protection planing, residential and commercial buildings, as well as industrial facilities are divided into the categories according to aim of usage. So the general outlined fire protection standarts are to be obtained. There are wide range of interior construction materials,stored furnitures and office utensils in such buildings. Among the architects the general understanding of the fire load that is specific for a building or facility is still missing. As an example, for the tall buildings or compartment areas bigger than 2.000 m2, as well as for storages, where the fire loads are greater than 300 kW/m2, calculation and the specification of the fire loads should be mandatory, thus appropriate construction materials should be selected.
